She served in Community Health Education Programs, coordinating adolescent health and family planning programs during the 1970’s and 1980’s.

She was a neighborhood volunteer air raid warden and Hostess for the Philadelphia USO during World War II. After moving to Atlantic City with her husband Ray and family, she volunteered from 1984 to 2000 for the Miss America Pageant Parent Committee and for the Children’s Seashore House.
